Stonebridge Companies Advances on Hilton Dual-Brand Hotel Project in Downtown Denver Infill development marks hospitality firm’s first Tru by Hilton hotel. Construction is underway on Stonebridge Companies’ dual-brand Hilton property in downtown Denver. Stonebridge Companies, headquartered in Denver, is serving as the owner, developer and operator for the new 22-story project that will add 382 hotel rooms and suites to welcome guests to downtown Denver. The property is within walking distance of the Colorado Convention Center. The dual-brand property broke ground in November 2017 and will feature both a Tru by Hilton and a Home2 Suites by Hilton. The dual-brand concept provides larger, more enhanced communal areas and amenities than would be standard for a single brand, benefiting both business and leisure travelers. The project expands Hilton’s growing footprint of multi- brand properties in the state. Planned to open in late 2019, the 22-story property is located on the corner of 15th and Stout Streets – at 801 15th Street – in the heart of downtown Denver. The property has a mix of unique offerings – each catering to the needs of the brands’ respective guests – including designated lobby and dining areas. The property also has a variety of shared amenities including a fitness center, conference room, restaurant and bar, valet parking and a 74,500-square-foot, five-story parking garage with 153 stalls. Haselden Construction Breaks Ground on the Holy Family High School in Broomfield School expansion will allow for more students and new robotics and engineering programs. Denver Zoo Breaks Ground on New Animal Hospital This is the first major step in the Zoo’s Phase I Master Plan to guide future development. The existing hospital was originally built 51 years ago, and the redesign will modernize its aging infrastructure and improve operating efficiencies. Led by Stantec, a global architecture, engineering, and consulting firm, the 22,000-square-foot facility will incorporate state-of-the-industry animal care and provide safe access to the animals, offering holding areas that include quarantine spaces. Stantec’s buildings group in Denver is providing architecture, interior design, and project management on the project. The project is expected to be complete the first quarter of 2020. Haselden Construction recently broke ground on the expansion of Holy Family High School in Broomfield, Colo. The 34,000 square foot expansion will include eight new classrooms, a fitness center and auxiliary gym with expanded locker rooms, and an enlarged cafeteria, allowing the school to grow from 690 students to 800 students. The expansion, expected to be completed in time for the 2019-2020 school year, will allow Holy Family to deepen its science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum as well as offer robotics courses. The new gymnasium and fitness center will enable students and sports teams to practice during school hours, rather than before or after school. 14 | Colorado Construction & Design Project Updates
